Terms of Service

1. Acceptance. By using this website or enrolling in any class, retreat, or training, you agree to these terms in their entirety.

2. About. Witness Yoga offers daily classes, 3–15 day retreats, and a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training registered with Yoga Alliance. Founder and lead teacher: Shiva Shankra. Parent brand: Divine Circle.

3. Eligibility. Participants must be 18+ (16–18 with written parental consent), in appropriate physical and mental condition, must disclose relevant medical conditions before enrolment, and must not be under the influence of alcohol or recreational substances. Witness Yoga may decline enrolment or ask a participant to leave where participation poses risk or conduct is disruptive.

4. Bookings. Class drop-ins confirmed on payment; 5-class packages valid 30 days from first use. Retreat and training places are confirmed on receipt of a non-refundable deposit; balance due 14 days before start; allocated first-confirmed, first-served.

5. Cancellations & Refunds. Classes: non-refundable once attended; 4+ hours notice to reschedule. Packages non-refundable. Retreats: cancellation 30+ days before start — full balance refund minus deposit; 15–30 days — 50%; under 15 days — none. Training: 45+ days — full balance refund minus deposit; 21–45 days — 50%; under 21 days — none. If Witness Yoga cancels, all payments including deposit are refunded or transferred at your choice.

6. Content. Programme content may be modified in the interest of quality or safety; core commitments are always honoured.

7. Certification. Graduates of the RYS 200 programme receive a certificate and are eligible to register as RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance. No guarantee of employment or income is made.

8. Intellectual Property. All content, materials and manuals are the property of Witness Yoga and Shiva Shankra; the training manual is for personal use only.

9. Conduct. Participants agree to treat everyone with respect and dignity, maintain the sacred nature of the space, refrain from intoxicants during programmes, and maintain appropriate boundaries. Violation may result in removal without refund.

10. Governing Law. These terms are governed by the laws of India; disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of Uttarakhand.

Privacy Policy

We collect contact information, booking and payment information, health information relevant to safe participation (intake forms only), communication records, and anonymous website analytics. We use it to process bookings, communicate with you, send opt-in updates, maintain safety records, and meet legal obligations. We never sell, rent, or share your personal information for marketing. Data is stored securely; health information is accessed only by authorised teaching staff. Request access, correction, or deletion anytime: witnessyogaschool@gmail.com. Cookies are used for basic functionality and anonymous analytics.

Health & Medical Disclaimer

Yoga, pranayama, meditation, and breathwork involve inherent risks, including physical injury and the surfacing of strong emotions. Participation is voluntary and at your own risk. Our programmes are not a substitute for medical or psychiatric diagnosis or treatment. Consult a physician before participating if you are pregnant or have cardiovascular, blood pressure, or respiratory conditions, recent injuries or surgeries, epilepsy, or any diagnosed mental health condition. Practice within your limits and inform your teacher of any condition or discomfort.

Participation Waiver

In consideration of participation, each participant agrees, to the fullest extent permitted by law: to assume the risks of participation; to release Witness Yoga, its founder, teachers, and staff from liability for injury, loss, or damage arising from ordinary negligence; to be responsible for personal belongings; and to confirm the accuracy of health information provided. This waiver does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law. A physical copy is signed on arrival for retreats and trainings.
